Navaratri 2014 - Day 9

Vijayadasami day was full of Golu visits!

Here are the pictures Golu wise!

Jayashree Satish
Jayashree's golu has always had a small part based on a theme along with the traditional golu
This year the theme it was very interesting with five different lands of Tamizh literature - Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neidhal, Paalai. Not buying any readymade stuff for this, she has made the different types of lands with the usual material used for Golu!
The depiction of the Gods of the different lands was made it very interesting!

Dont miss the different Gods/Goddess of the lands!

Sujatha Jagan
Sujatha's golu was as grand as last year. She also had some lovely quilled trays and photo frames made by her displayed. It was nice to get to know her artistic abilities this time!

Suja's quilling craft!

Renuka Murali
Here again is a traditional golu with a small thematic one nearby. This time was about music with a poster of musical notes, ragas and dolls of kutcheri, cinema music and western music!

Rama Kalyan
Another grand golu with Sabari malai scene on one side

Ramya Sundar
Yet another grand golu with a temple procession and kutti park

Evening I barged into E block without invitation as I heard that this year, the theme was Aarupadai Veedu. It was if at all more grand than the last year's Sundara Kandam Golu.
The poor lady was quite busy expecting some important guests but ensured that I was comfortable enough to take all pictures and gave me thamboolam!

Gajendra Moksham so beautifully depicted

Iyappan, dont miss the tiger doll as vahanam!
